It should be more than capable of powering those headphones. (another reason i asked you to check the headphones on other devices).i personally run a pair of higher ohm (requires more power to drive) headphones on devices with less of an amp than you have and they work fine hence why i'm not sure its your motherboard.if the problem is definitely an issue with the motherboard not providing enough power. Then perhaps an amp (like a fiio) or a new soundcard is an option but i just dont see why it would be the motherboard given the specs (unless of course you have a different one if so give a link)list your other hardware you have installed in the pc (complete hardware list) including the power supply. Also, do you have all of the power connectors going to the motherboard? I'm going out on a limb here but perhaps if you didnt have an aux power plug in or if your psu is undersized that might be a limiting factor (again. Going out on a limb here.) because to power a 600ohm headphone you need a heftier amp than what is in most systems.

Also is there anything in the software menu about enabling more output (ie that sound boost or whatever it was called)? I would think it should be an 'option' since this would blow normal headphones. Well looks like the low volume is a common issue.but what i dont understand is why a soundcard rated for 600ohm headphones isnt capable of driving it.in any case using a desktop amplifier (like a fiio) would probably work.

You can also use a low gain and move the mic closer to your mouth, but really. This is what a better microphone does. Improves the signal quality while lowering the noise floor.There are post-processing software options to artificially filter background noise. But they only work sometimes, will all add microphone delay (and usually an erratic one, causing your voice to 'drift' in relation to your webcam), and can sometimes REALLY screw up horribly. Remember one caster who had to keep their voice away from high pitches because Audition would freak out and either go full robot, or start making a high pitched, keening WHIIIIIIIIIIINE which was mindbendingly annoying until the software was restarted.tl;dr: Buy a better microphone, keep it close to your mouth, and run the gain low to exclude background noise, after eliminating all the background noise you can in the first place. You might be able to use VB-Cable to send your microphone's signal to a software that can process it.

A popular choice is VSTHost (free) or Adobe Audition (commercial, AFAIK) and load in some compression/EQ/gate/noise-reduction/limiting VSTs. That's how I've been getting good audio before I upgraded to higher quality studio gear.P.S. I spent about 2 months reading and learning about audio engineering before I finally started getting results that actually sounded better. But if you just want louder, you can try Audition's Noise Reduction VST, Voxengo's ReduNoise or Line6 Noise Gate.
Move the mic closer to your mouth if you can and see if that helps otherwise you're likely out of luck. Software isn't particularly a great fix for this kind of issue as it isn't going to be able to isolate your voice on the fly and seperate it from the background noise. It just isn't really feasible. It's just going to make everything much louder including any static or background noise or your mic's 'neutral sound'.What I would suggest though is getting a standalone mic if you can spring for it.
