Takes some menu-digging for some basic functions, but you get used to it.The best way tu use it is to rely heavily on the Q-link knobs and the big rotary knob. These work really well.The pads are great, easy to play. They do collect dirt and dust, though.The software really takes time to get into and practice.Overall: with time, I realized It was much more convenient to grab a laptop and a NI Maschine, than to carry around the AKAI.

Same weight, longer battery life, way more flexibility. Well, It has all the potential to be an amazing product and works fantastically in stand alone mode, but that's where the fun stops. It's let down badly by poor connectivity, poor instructions / setup guides, lazy UI/UX, poor customer support from Akai (not Thomann you guys rock!). Despite saying it has Bluetooth, it will only sync with keyboards etc not sound devices. The WiFi doesn?t work. The touch screen feels like it was designed by somebody who doesn't own a modern day smartphone as the interface is muddled, overly complex and feels cumbersome to use.

The internal storage device can?t be accessed externally via your MacBook etc, which means any projects built in stand alone mode need to be manually moved on to a separate ssd if you want to load into Logic, Ableton etc using MPC 2.0 (daw plugin) which by the way won't load the project even after you've moved it. I love the device in stand alone, anything to get us away from the laptop and into musIc. But, I can quite honestly say that Akai are probably the worst company / manufacturer I have ever dealt with. Awesome product - loaded with frutstration. Buyer beware!!
