Sorry for the question but why do you even want to play on DirectX 9?You said yourself it plays fine on DirectX 11 so why downgrade to DX9?It does seem weird, haha. I'd rather a much more stable FPS. DirectX 9 doesn't decrease much visuals on Far Cry 3 but provides a better frame rate in foliage dense areas.

- It may look different than what i see becuase of my monitor is a tn panel, but this mod removes allot of that yucky greyish tint that bf3 has, while other mods remove it and add way too much color. Instrictions: Just extract the archive to your far cry 2 BIN folder.

I got SweetFX 1.5.1 and I'm running the presets with the SweetFX Configurator. As a test, I launched Mars: War Logs with one of the presets hosted at sfx.thelazy.net, worked like voodoo magic.:D Then I tried to apply a preset to Far Cry 3 (to max out the graphics, for the hell of it.
Plus there is a SweetFX mod I want to use which requires DX9.I'm afraid that there is no fix for it as far as i know.The reason they keep making new DirectX versions is exactly because of better optimisation.Only thing i can advice you is to put normal textures quality back up abit but turn Anti-Alliasing off, AA can cause lots of hickups when a lot of new textures are loaded in, think explosions or driving at high speed through forests and such.Though i find it strange that your mod doesn't work with DirectX11, have you tried it?Maybe there is an update on the Modder's site.
